Copyright and License Statement
The APJMI is committed to upholding authors' rights while promoting the broad dissemination of scholarly research through open access. The following copyright and licensing policies govern the work published in the journal:
1. Copyright Policy
- Author Retains Copyright:
- Upon acceptance of an article for publication, authors retain the copyright of their work. This means that authors retain the legal rights to their intellectual property, allowing them to control how their work is used, distributed, and reproduced. Authors are granted the freedom to use their published work in future research, teaching, and other professional activities, provided that proper attribution is given to the original publication in APJMI.
- Grant of License to ORDIENT Publishers:
- By submitting a manuscript to APJMI, authors grant ORDIENT Publishers a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and display the work in any form or medium, including digital and print. This license allows the journal to make the article available to the public under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.
- Author Rights Post-Publication:
- After publication, authors have the right to deposit the final published version of their article in institutional repositories, personal websites, or other non-commercial platforms. Authors are encouraged to share their work widely, ensuring proper citation and a link to the article on the APJMI website.
2. License Policy
- Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) License:
- All articles published in APJMI are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license. This license facilitates the free and open distribution of published work under the following terms:
- Attribution: Users are free to share (copy and redistribute) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon) the material in any medium or format, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the source. Users must provide a link to the license and indicate if changes were made to the original work. The attribution must not imply that the authors or APJMI endorse the user or their use of the work.
- NonCommercial: The work may not be used for commercial purposes. This means that users cannot use the material for commercial gain or incorporate it into commercial products without obtaining additional permission from the authors. Any commercial use of the work requires separate licensing agreements.
- Permitted Uses Under CC BY-NC:
- Educational and Research Use: The license allows for the use of the work in educational settings, such as in classrooms, for training materials, and non-commercial research purposes. Institutions and educators may freely use, adapt, and distribute the content in a non-commercial context.
- Non-Commercial Dissemination: Researchers, practitioners, and the general public are encouraged to share the work widely, provided it is not for commercial purposes. This includes sharing on social media, academic networks, and non-commercial websites, ensuring the research reaches the broadest possible audience.
- Prohibited Uses Without Permission:
- Commercial Exploitation: Users may not use the content for commercial purposes, such as selling, sublicensing, or redistributing the work for profit, without the explicit permission of the copyright holder (the author). Any use involving monetary transactions or intended for commercial advantage requires separate permission.
- Derivative Works for Commercial Purposes: Users may not create derivative works (such as translations, adaptations, or summaries) for commercial purposes without obtaining additional permissions from the author.
3. Compliance with Funding Requirements
- Open Access Compliance: Many research funders require that funded research results be published in an open-access format. Authors can comply with such requirements by publishing in APJMI under the CC BY-NC license, ensuring that their work is freely accessible to the public.
4. Responsibilities of Authors and Users
- Proper Attribution: Both authors and users are responsible for ensuring that proper credit is given whenever the work is shared, adapted, or used. This includes providing full citation details and a link to the original article on the APJMI website.
- Ethical Use of Content: Users of APJMI content are expected to respect the terms of the CC BY-NC license, particularly the prohibition against commercial use. Authors are responsible for ensuring that any third-party material in their work is appropriately licensed or used with permission.
