Publication Etchics
The Asia Pacific Journal of Medical Innovations (APJMI) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics, ensuring the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the research it publishes. The journal is committed to maintaining ethical practices in all aspects of the publication process, from submission to dissemination. The following principles guide our ethical policies:
For Authors
Submission Guidelines:
- Manuscript Preparation: Authors must prepare their manuscripts according to APJMI's formatting guidelines. This includes adhering to the journal's structure, referencing style, and length requirements. Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise English and without grammatical errors.
- Originality and Plagiarism: APJMI accepts only original research that has not been previously published or is under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts must exhibit no more than 10% similarity with existing published work, as determined by plagiarism detection software. Authors are responsible for ensuring their work is free from plagiarism before submission.
- Ethical Compliance: Authors must ensure that all research involving human participants or animals complies with relevant ethical standards. Ethical approval from an appropriate committee must be obtained, and a statement of ethical compliance must be included in the manuscript. Informed consent must be obtained from human participants, and it must be clearly stated.
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, that could be perceived as influencing the research results. A conflict of interest statement must be included in the manuscript.
- Submission Process: Manuscripts should be submitted through the APJMI online submission system. The corresponding author manages all communication with the journal, including submitting revisions and the final manuscript.
- Post-Acceptance: Upon acceptance, authors must submit final versions of their manuscripts and any necessary supplementary material. Authors will also be responsible for approving the final proofs before publication.
For Reviewers
Role and Responsibilities:
- Objective Evaluation: Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal. Reviewers are expected to provide a thorough, unbiased, and constructive evaluation of the manuscript, focusing on the originality, methodology, validity of results, and significance of the research.
- Confidentiality: All information on the manuscript under review must be treated strictly. Reviewers should not discuss the manuscript with anyone outside the review process and must not use the information for their research.
- Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews within the time frame provided by the journal. If additional time is required, reviewers should promptly inform the editorial office. If a reviewer feels unqualified to review the manuscript or cannot provide a timely review, they should decline the invitation to review as soon as possible.
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality. If a conflict exists, the reviewers should recuse themselves from the review process.
- Review Feedback: Reviewers should provide detailed, constructive feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. The review should focus on the content and the quality of the manuscript. Reviewers are also encouraged to provide recommendations for improvement.
- Anonymity: APJMI follows a double-blind review process to ensure impartiality. Reviewers should not include any information that might identify them to the authors.
